If your child will be turning five (5) on or before September 1, 2017 he/she is eligible to attend Kindergarten in the fall.
What is Registration? Registration is the first step to enrolling your child at Swanton School. Please take a moment to stop at the Babcock Building to get a registration packet so that you can complete the necessary paperwork for Kindergarten for the 2017/2018 school year. In order for your child to attend school the Vermont Department of Health requires that you provide a COPY of:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization Records
If your child is enrolled in the Swanton Early Childhood program, we already have them on our list as an incoming Kindergarten student. The Kindergarten registration packet will be sent home with your child in early February so be on the look out.
“Getting to know you” Screening will be held on Friday, May 5 from 9:00-10:30 or 10:30-12:00 or 12:30-2:00
Monday, May 8 from 9:00-10:30 or 10:30-12:00 or 12:30-2:00 at the Mary S. Babcock School. (not required for Swanton Early Childhood)
What happens at “Getting to know you” screening? This screening is intended to help school staff members gather basic information about our incoming kindergarten students. Parents can expect a screening to take about one (1) hour 15 minutes, with the child having an opportunity to play with other children, meet with a kindergarten teacher, have his/her vision and hearing examined, and meet other school personnel. As parents you will get to know some of the people connected with our school.
Please schedule an appointment for your Screening when you drop off your registration packet. You can also call the school to schedule an appointment: 868-4920.
