SWANTON SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING MINUTES
6/25/2009 Board Meeting
Present:
Board Members: Roy Eckler, Don Collins, April Kilbury, PattiJo Walker. Corinne Bonnette was absent from the meeting.
Administration: Julie Benay, Principal, Brent Coon Assistant Principal, Dr. John McCarthy, Superintendent.
Don Collins called meeting to order at 10:04 a.m., seconded by April Kilbury. Discussed Capitol Improvement Refunding for Don Collins and Board members to sign.
Don Collins called to Executive Session at 10:08 a.m., seconded by Roy Eckler.
Don motioned to exit executive session at 11:03 a.m., seconded by April Kilbury. The board approved the motion. The following motions were made after Executive Session:
PattiJo made motion to release Eric Acanfora from current contract until July 6th. No further extensions will be granted. Motion seconded by April Kilbury. Board approved the motion on a 4 – 0 vote
Roy Eckler made motion to approve one year leave of absence for Katy Thompson, seconded by April Kilbury. The Board approved motion on a 4 – 0 vote.
PattiJo Walker made motion to amend Peter Garrow’s contract from 200 days to 220 days, seconded by April Kilbury. Board approved motion on a 4 – 0 vote.
April Kilbury made motion to approve all proposed contracts made in executive session, seconded by Roy Eckler. Board approved on a 4 – 0 vote. Contracts proposed are as follows:
School Nurse .8 for Linda Lane.
Kindergarten Interventionist .4 One year for Mary McLaughlin.
Kindergarten one year .4 for Lynette Appleget.
Elementary one year 6th grade leave of absence for Justin Wills.
Elementary on going 6th grade for Jana Taylor.
School Nurse .2fte for Norma Gaignery.
Para Professional 21 hours/week for Heather Lavoie.
Kindergarten Interventionist 3.5 hours/day for Pamela Pierce.
Kindergarten Para Professional 21 hrs/week for Becky Jo Zier.
Para Professional 7 hrs/day for Caroline Davis.
Para Professional 7 hrs/day for Diane Matton.
Para Professional 7.5 hrs/day for Sarah Tebbetts.
Don made motion, seconded by Roy to adjourn the meeting at 11:03 a.m. The board approved the motion on a 4 – 0 vote.
